Three Questions – by Leo Tolstoy

Read this interesting story. An emperor is seeking answers to three questions:

1. What is the best time to do each thing?

2. Who are the most important people to work with?

3. What is the most important thing to do at all times?

A wise sage answers:

1. There is only one important time and that is Now. The present moment is the only time over which we have dominion.

2. The most important person is always the person with whom you are, who is right before you, for who knows if you will have dealings with any other person in the future.

3. The most important pursuit is making that person, the one standing at your side, happy, for that alone is the pursuit of life.

Nice thoughts :).

Jab main chota tha

Jab main chota tha

Jab main chota tha school ka rasta lamba tha,
yaad hai ki halwai, toy shop, icecream, chandni chat, kulfi kya nahi tha

Ab mobile shop, internet cafe aur mall hain,
par wo shaan nahin jab main chota tha

Shayad duniya simat rahi hai
Shayad duniya simat rahi hai

Jab main chota tha shamen bahut lambi hua kerti thi
ghanton patang bazi, wo cycle race, wo chor-sipahi, gilli-danda
thak kar choor ho jaana

Ab sham nahin hoti, din dhalta hai aur sidhey raat hoti hai
Shayad waqt simat raha hai

Jab main chota tha tab dosti bahut gahri hua kerti thi
dinbhar toli banakar ghumna, doston ke ghar khana khana
wo larkiyon ki baten, wo saath rona, saath sona, saath khaana

Dosti kahaan hai ab? rahon par milte hain 'Bye' kertey huye badh jaten hain
naye saal, janmdin, holi, diwali bas 'sms' aate hain
Shayad rishtey badal rahey hain

Jab main chota tha tab khel bhi ajeeb hua kerte the
chupan-chhupai, chor-sipahi, langri taang, tipi tipi top top

Ab internet, office, T.V. se fursat hi nahi milti
Shayad zindgi badal rahi hai

Par sab se bara sach na badla
jo 'shamshan bhumi' ke bahar board par likha hai
''Manzil to yehi thi, bas zindgi guzar gai aate aate".
